Finally, finally did this baby arrive. We have been patiently waiting for the past 3 months. Sahara had milk for the last 2 months but wasn't going to have her baby. In the end I got worried about her but she seemed to be doing just fine. Then we got up one morning and this adorable little boy greeted us. Sahara did great on her own and is a very sweet mom. Sometimes I think she is a little bit too trusting and lets her baby check out all the other moms and babies at just a few days of age. I get more worried than she is. This little boy is adorable and comes running every time he sees us.

When we put Tapioca's foal up into the barn at 6:30 AM Bunny wanted to follow her. My husband took Bunny back into the lot not knowing that she was actually in labor. I went out 10 minutes later and she laid down in the run in shed and started pushing. The baby arrived a few minutes later and Bunny got to go into the barn with her new little red jack. We waited for over 6 weeks for these last two boys and then they arrived on the same day a little over an hour apart...

After waiting over 6 weeks for this baby to arrive he finally did. He arrived just around 5 am. He was up on his legs in no time and was quick to find his milk bottle. We left them outside for another hour and then put them up into their stall. He spent his first week inside under a fan and an AC unit since we had over 100 degree temperatures.

Esther had this beautiful little spotted girl at about 4:00 AM. When I checked on her the baby was up and looking for milk. Since it was a warm night and Esther kept the baby inside the building I decided to leave her outside until my husband went to work. He put them up into a stall on his way to work. I was thinking of a fitting name for her and finally found what I think is a nice name for her on my vacation to Florida since I couldn't find a fitting Memorial Day weekend name. I love her thin white stripe going up her neck!

Just two months ago I wasn't even sure if Memorial was even pregnant because she didn't seem very big compared to the others. She just carried her baby differently. She had a cute little gray girl that greeted us early this Sunday morning!

This is our second little boy and he is just as tiny and adorable as the first one. He is Marillya's first baby and she did great! This little boy got his color from Marillya's sire Lakota. He is simply a sweet boy and is beautiful! He came right to my husband as soon as he saw him for the first time. His nickname is "Dreckspatz" since he always seems to have his nose where it doesn't belong - so he stays dirty!

Our second baby in one day. I had been checking on Pockets all day and figured she would either wait until I had to be away from the house or until nighttime to have her baby. She had been overly friendly to me that morning. We checked on her at 10:30 PM - no signs of labor. I went to bed and set my clock for an hour later. Of course with a schedule like that I couldn't even begin to think about sleeping. Then the coyotes started howling at 11:30 PM and our dogs started barking as well - I guess to keep them away. I made it out right before midnight and the little one was already up on it's feet. We put her into a stall and I felt more relaxed. At 3:00 AM we went to check that all was well. This little girl is red with a little star on her forehead. She looks absolutely sweet.

Maverick surprised us with this spotted girl - her first spotted baby that we know of. The baby never saw a human and came literally running to me. What a friendly girl! She is very active and certainly has personality like her mom!

This is our first little boy this season and he is adorable. Tiny like Salsa's previous baby he arrived right before I had to pick up our daughter from school. He was up on his legs when I left and I hurried back home. When I came home a short time later he was already nursing and trying to play. I just love this short bodied little guy and he is always there for some hugs! He has the nicest striped up legs that we have not had in red donkeys before.

This is Monday Mary's second little girl. The baby was there when I went out to feed in the morning. Mary allowed one other jenny with her at the haybale but everyone else had to stand in the corner of the lot. I put her and baby into a stall and the baby was so relieved to finally be able to lay down and rest. She had a belly full of milk and then just passed out in the stall. So cute! She is a dark gray, with a cute black nose - and almost black eye rings. She is not a dark point - but something in between.

This little girl had a lot of luck on her side and scared me so much. I was just going to go outside to check on Stella and my daughter came running in telling me that Stella was trying to have her baby. She had just started pushing. So I thought - I'll get the iodine and change into my other clothes since I was wearing good clothes. Then I decided I would check on her first in case our daughter didn't get it right. When I went outside I saw this big red bubble coming out of her - I knew the baby was in real trouble - I climbed through the fence and immediately ripped the bag open - a flood of bloody water came toward me (so much for the clothes). I saw the baby's head and front  legs were right there - my husband came running as well alarmed by our daughter. By the time he made it through the fence I had the baby pulled almost out with just one contraction and it seemed dead - I massaged it's belly and my husband shook it's head and nose - it finally took a slow breath and was fine after that. I was so shook up for the rest of the day because I knew that this baby was just living because of a few short seconds - if I had changed into my pants it would have been too late. And what a beautiful colored girl she is! We had many red babies before - in all shades of red - but never did we have one as dark red as this one. She almost looks chestnut but she is red - red eyelashes and all!
